Next year we plant early. It sounded really reasonable when a man told me years ago that all I had to do was look west toward Trinity County and if I saw snow on the mountains don’t plant even if it’s April.

It may be too soon to hit the slopes, but it's not too soon to hit the gym and get ready for ski and snowboard season. Dr. John Kemp, a Red Bluff-based orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in sports medicine, recommends working out for a minimum of six to eight weeks before you hitting the mountain.

Through the years of listing and selling real estate in Redding and Shasta/Tehama Counties I’ve observed several code changes in response to weather phenomena that hit Redding.

Let's teach Sarah Palin about the Supreme Court! Everyone's probably heard by now of Sarah Palin, the Republican candidate for Vice President. What you may not have heard yet is that she is, as of this moment, unable to name any Supreme Court Case other than Roe v. Wade, as evidenced by Katie Couric. Seeing as how this w

That is a short statement because the long one contains a whole string of known obscenities! I choke every time I try to come to grips with my new reality and realize how truly screwed I am! I feel panic every time I let my mind encompass the "whole" situation and just keep trying to focus on smaller pieces of the disaster
Today, Shasta draws not only hardcore explorers like Muir, but thousands of others who shoot for its summit each year. The 14,162-foot volcano also attracts artists, scientists, spiritualists and skiers and snowboarders.

Today we have a guest blogger, a VIP from our local beloved paper. He needs (deserves) no introduction, so I'll let him just get to it. ~GThis morning when I went out to get the paper, an acorn hit me on the head. For a full minute or two, as I sat there dazed on the driveway, I thought the sky was falling.

One of our clients sent us an article that was truly fascinating. It has to do with global warming and our very own Mt. Shasta. First of all, if you don't know about much about Mt. Shasta it rises over 14,100 ft. above sea level.

Is Stillwater Park Our Future? Should it be? What about Recreation and Tourism? We recently read that Turtle Bay “delivers $9.6 million” to the County last year.
